Citations We Accept

You are eligible to be a part of our court-related community service program provided you meet the following criteria:
  • You are at least 18 years old.
  • Your charge is not a felony.
  • Your charge is not related to sex, violence, or any form of theft.

CS Orientation

  • Volunteers must call Volunteer Services to schedule a volunteer orientation prior to start date.

Items to bring

  • The citation or government document with name and charge.
  • Driver’s license and car insurance

Volunteer Opportunities at Meals On Wheels Atlanta


Senior Delivering Meals

Monday – Saturday (5-10 volunteers daily)
  • You will only deliver meals within the Fulton Country area.
  • What to Wear: Although there is no strict dress code for delivery, please remember that you are representing MOWA to our clients and the community.
  • Arrival Time: New drivers should report to MOWA at 9am for a 30 -45 minute delivery training. You will begin delivering immediately after your training and the average route is 2-3 hours in length. Returning volunteers may arrive between 9-10:00am to pick up their route.
  • What to Bring: Please bring an ink pen for taking notes, and a cell phone. If you have a GPS it is recommended that you bring it.

Building Utility Help

Monday – Friday between 9am – 4pm. (1 person per day First call, first served basis.)
  • Volunteers may choose between serving full days (9:00am - 4:00pm) and half days (9:00am - 12:00pm or 1:00pm - 4:00pm). In order to sign up for a full day you must sign up for both the 9-12 and 1-4 shifts.
  • This volunteer experience will require volunteers to be standing all day.
  • You may be helping wash dishes, pots and pans; perform various kitchen sanitation projects; or assist with the fulfillment of recipes by retrieving items from coolers and freezers - so bring layers!
  • May require heavy lifting and use of cleaners.
  • Wear clothes that you do not mind getting wet or dirty

Special Tasks

Delivery Concierge Help

Saturday 8:30am-11am (2 people per day. First call, first served basis.)
  • Concierge will help load cooler bags into volunteer drivers' cars and help volunteers’ inventory meals before delivery.
  • You will be going in and out of coolers, so wear layers
  • Volunteers will have to go through delivery training before being assigned a concierge role.
